Phosphorus Industry China Monthly Report provides you with real-time intelligence on China's phosphorus and phosphorus chemicals markets.

China is home to the world's second largest reserves of phosphate rock, while the country is also a major producer of yellow phosphorus, phosphoric acid, phosphate fertilizers and fine phosphorus chemicals.

However, with China's reserves of high-grade phosphorite dwindling, the government is taking decisive action to curb exports and improve extraction and beneficiation technologies.

Meanwhile, downstream industries are also struggling to develop technology to produce higher-value products such as high-grade yellow phosphorus, electronic-grade phosphoric acid and phosphorus-based flame retardants.

Phosphorus Industry China Monthly Report will help you stay ahead of the game in this fast-changing market with real-time reporting on the entire phosphorus industry chain, from raw materials to end consumption. This includes:

  • Breaking news from China and abroad

In Aug. 2016, China's STPP market continued the downturn. Still, the oversupply played a key role in setting back price rise, despite overall low operating rate. Since the price of yellow phosphorus has fallen to the bottom and the downstream industries would not largely increase demand, CCM believes that the price will stand low.

In Aug. 2016, China's yellow phosphorus market remained sluggish. Ex-works prices continued falling slightly in Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Hubei, and operating rates in Yunnan and Sichuan remained low. Considering that most manufacturers have suspended production and the downstream glyphosate market maintains stable, CCM believes that the price is expected to stop falling later in China.

In early Sept. 2016, China's peak demand season for phosphate fertilisers in autumn began but demand for the products grew slowly. CCM predicted that it is less likely for phosphate fertiliser prices to increase in the short term considering slow growth in market demand, overcapacity, low price of grains and insufficient support from the foreign market.

Published on 12th September, 2016

At the end of Aug. 2016, successive listed Chinese fertiliser enterprises released their H1 2016 financial reports. According to CCM, their financial performance showed distinct differentiation – traditional nitrogen and phosphate fertiliser enterprises suffered a decline in profits while those producing compound fertiliser enjoyed profit growth against the depressed market.
