In Sept. 2016, Dongxu Optoelectronic released its proposal of constructing graphene-based Li-ion battery project, with a total investment of USD247.07 million. The project will be completed in two phases with a duration of 12 months, and the phase one will be initiated in Dec. 2016.

In Sep., 2016, MOF released a notification about special inspection on subsidies for AEV promotion and application, publicly exposing subsidy frauds and typical cases of plotting subsidy of five AEV manufacturers, in which more than USD151.23 million (RMB1 billion) financial subsidies have been involved.

In Sept. 2016, the phase one project in Optimum Nano's AEV industrial base has been officially put into operation in Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. The base, devoted to the development of upstream and downstream industrial chain of AEV manufacturing, is expected to achieve a total sales of USD2.99 billion (RMB20 billion) in the future.

In Sep., 2016, SG Automotive Group decided to establish a joint venture with Neusoft Ruichi and Samsung SDI. Since Samsung SDI has not been on the National Power Battery Standard Enterprise Catalogue, relevant downstream users (automakers) will unable to acquire national subsidy, imposing doubts on the marketing of the power Li-ion battery of the newly-built joint venture.
