Lithium hydroxide's price soared again in Feb. The existed supply gap of lithium hydroxide was further expanded due to the maintenance of smelting plants after the Spring Festival, driving lithium carbonate's price to rise.

The price of battery-grade lithium carbonate has risen to around USD73,922.62/t (RMB470,000/t) as of mid-February 2022, and is still rising rapidly by nearly over USD1,572.82 (RMB10,000) per day. In terms of supply, some lithium carbonate enterprises have resumed production from the maintenance during the Spring Festival in Feb., so the output of lithium salts may increase slightly by then. In terms of demand, the proportion of lithium salts' costs used for four major battery materials may also further rise as the price of lithium salts increased.
