According to data released by the Newcastle Port Corporation, the coal shipments made from the Port of Newcastle totaled 2.26 million tons in the week ended on August 5th, falling by 23% from a week ago.
In the first five days of August, the Port of Newcastle exported 1.98 million tons of thermal and coking coal.
Meanwhile, the largest exporters to ship coals form the Port of Newcastle are Anglo American, Peabody Energy, Rio Tinto and Xstrata.
