While entering Sept. 2012, some of domestic pesticides' prices stayed stable, such as glyphosate, chlorpyrifos, imidacloprid, etc., and some of others' prices, however, witnessed continuous ups and downs, such as paraquat, abamectin, azoxystrobin, etc.
China's total volume and value of pesticides exported during this period reached 611,700 tonnes and USD1.91 billion, up 9.5% and 12.8% over the same period of 2011 respectively. Among the pesticides exported, the volume and value of herbicides were the largest, reaching 408,300 tonnes and USD1.11 billion, up 17.4% and 22.9% over the same period of 2011. The export volume of fungicides also witnessed descent as insecticides, with export volume falling to 48,600 tonnes, down 7.5% over the same period of 2011.
China imported 5,209 tonnes of pesticides valuing USD39.58 million in Aug. 2012, and the total import volume surged to 47,841 tonnes in the first eight months of this year, up 23.18% over the same period of last year, according to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China.
Jiangsu Weien mainly produces three categories of products: herbicides (glyphosate and phenmedipham), insecticide (triazophos) and pesticide intermediates (PMIDA phenylhydrazine hydrochloride, benzoquinone, etc.). Among them, glyphosate is the leading product.
