Japan’s imports of coking coal decrease in November

Japan imported 5.4 million tons of coking coals in November, decreasing by 8.4% from a month ago and falling by 17.6% year on year, according to data of Japan's Ministry of Finance.

In the first 11 months of 2012, the country's imports of coking coals totaled 65.9 million tons, rising by 3.8% year on year.

In the given period of time, Australia was the largest coking coal exporter to Japan with 34.8 million tons, up by 1.9%; Indonesia was the second largest one with 16 million tons, jumping by 18.4%, both compared to the figures in the same period of a year ago.
