Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steelmaker Shagang Group (Shagang) has announced that it has produced new die steel of 1.2311 and 1.2738 grades at its plate complex.
Die steel of 1.2311 grade possesses good polishing properties and is easily processed, while it is widely used in moulds for zinc, aluminum, magnesium and their alloys. Die steel of 1.2738 grade has the properties of 1.2311 grade, but also has an added nickel element, and is used in highly polished moulds
