Do-Fluoride's lithium battery industry chain has some advantages compared with other enterprises.First, Do-Fluoride's production cost of LiPF6 is lower. The production cost of Do-Fluoride's LiPF6 is less than other producers, such as Jiangsu Jiujiujiu Technology Co., Ltd. (Jiujiujiu), by USD969 when producing 1 tonne of LiPF6, which is mainly because Do-Fluoride's raw materials, including HF of electronic grade and LiF, are produced by themselves.
Second, the government's policy is conducive to its development. In 2013, the import tariff for LiPF6 was raised from 2% to 4%, which means that the import cost of LiPF6 will increase. In this situation, domestic enterprises will choose Do-Fluoride's LiPF6 instead of the foreign enterprises because Do-Fluoride is the largest enterprise in the LiPF6 industry of China.
But, Do-Fluoride's lithium ion battery project has failed to reach the expected effect because of the immature downstream market. The few electric vehicles and electric bicycle enterprises restricted Do-Fluoride's output of lithium ion batteries. The output of Do-Fluoride's lithium ion batteries in 2012 was just 20 million AH/a with an operating revenue of just USD0.24 million, which may have a bad effect on Do-Fluoride's investment in the lithium battery industry chain.
It's estimated that the bad situation will not change in June 2013. The domestic market demand for fluorine chemical products will continue to be dismal in June 2013 because of the depressed economy, which can't provide the impetus to increase of fluorine chemical products' prices. In addition, the production costs of most fluorine chemical products have reduced a lot because of the decreasing prices of their raw materials.
