China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) and General Administration of Customs have announced the cancellation of license requirements for importing certain products, including finished steel, steel scrap, aluminium scrap, copper products, copper scrap, natural gas and chemical fertilizers. In addition, certain stainless steel hot rolled coils have also been included in the list of commodities. Accordingly, importers will no longer have to apply for licenses to import the commodities in question. The removal of license requirements forms part of broader moves to reduce red tape and open up China's commodity markets.
