MOC: Average steel price in China edges up

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (July 22-28) the average steel price in China rose by 0.2 percent compared to the previous week.

In particular, in the given week in China prices of 12 mm rebar and 6.5 mm high-speed wire rod both increased by 0.4 percent, week on week.

In the week ending July 28, average prices of minerals in China were up 0.1 percent compared to the previous week. Furthermore, the average prices of zinc ore and copper ore were up one percent and 0.7 percent, while the prices of iron ore and lead ore remained unchanged, all compared to the previous week.

Meanwhile, in the given week, average prices of energy in China were up 0.6 percent week on week. The average price of crude oil increased by 2.8 percent, the average price of raw coal decreased by 1.4 percent, while the average price of metallurgical coke remained unchanged, all week on week.
