China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (June 17-23) the average steel price in China rose by 0.1 percent compared to the previous week.
In particular, in the given week prices in China of 145 mm x 2.5 mm hot rolled steel strip, 12 mm rebar and 6.5 mm high-speed wire rod increased by 0.5 percent, 0.4 percent and 0.1 percent respectively, all week on week.
In the week ending June 23, average prices of minerals in China were up 0.7 percent compared to the previous week. Furthermore, the average prices of tungsten ore and iron ore increased by 1.4 percent and one percent respectively, while the prices of zinc ore and lead ore decreased by one percent and 0.2 percent, all compared to the previous week.
Meanwhile, in the given week, average prices of energy in China were down 0.1 percent week on week. The average price of crude oil increased by 1.5 percent, the price of raw coal decreased by 0.5 percent, while the average price of metallurgical coke remained unchanged, all on week-on-week basis.
