China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (February 25-March 3) the average steel price in China decreased by 0.4 percent compared to the previous week.
In particular, in the given week prices of 10 mm steel plate, 3 mm hot rolled sheet and 12 mm diameter rebar decreased by 0.6 percent, 0.6 percent and 0.5 percent respectively, all week on week. In the week ending March 3, average prices of minerals in China witnessed a decrease of 0.8 percent week on week. Furthermore, the average prices of iron ore and copper ore declined by 0.9 percent and 1.2 percent respectively, both compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, in the given week, average prices of energy in China were up 0.7 percent. The average price of refined oil products was up 2.8 percent week on week, while the price of coke remained unchanged and the price of raw coal decreased by 0.1 percent on week-on-week basis.
