Last week, the wire rod prices rose in the Taiwanese domestic market, driven by rising raw material prices.

At present, the transaction prices of single rolling mills' Al-killed wire rods are at NT$22,000/ton; those of rimmed wire rods are at NT$21,500/ton and those of electric furnace (EF) Al-killed wire rod are at NT$21,000/ton.

It's expected that the wire rod prices would continue rising in the Taiwanese domestic market this week since the raw material prices kept rising and market participants expected China Steel Corp. (CSC), the largest carbon steelmaker in Taiwan would hike its list prices for steel wires and bars.
