According to the data released by China Customs, in March of this year, Chinese overall coke and semi-finished coke exports had amounted to 100 thousand metric tons and the average export price reached $469 per ton, jumping by $80 per ton from February. After the adjustment, the first and second class coke prices in Tianjin port were approximately at $500/t and $480/t respectively. Looking at first three months as a whole, the domestic coke exports had aggregated to 0.25 million metric tons.
Given to the Q2 is the traditional high season for coke consumption, experts said that China's coke exports will continue ramping up in the short run. However, owing to both of the international and domestic coke prices have shown a downward trend, China coke export price may also follow suit and soften in the near future.
