Chinese stocks opened higher on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.17 percent, or 3.98 points, to open at 2,377.76.

The Shenzhen Component Index went up 0.29 percent, or 28.75 points, to open at 10,115.31.
