Chinese stocks opened higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.26 percent, or 6.31 points, to open at 2,401.10.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.37 percent, or 37.27 points to open at 10,092.13.
