According to the data released by The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China recently, Chinese domestic coke price hiked by 0.4% last week (ended on December 25) compared to prior week.

Experts said the dropping coke production and rising enthusiasm for stock-up from steel mills are the main reasons for the price rebound. It is reported that the coking enterprises especially in Shanxin province have cut their production substantially since entering the fourth quarter of this year. As a result, the domestic coke output just amounted to 33.44 million metric tons in November, decreasing by 6.4% compared to previous month.
