According to statistics released by the Belgian Steel Federation (GSV), the country's crude steel output totaled 1.71 million tons in the third quarter of this year, decreasing by 3.72% year on year and falling by 3.78% from the previous quarter.
In the third quarter of this year, Belgium's production of hot rolled coils totaled 1.7 million tons, decreasing by 8.58%; that of cold rolled coils were at 1.02 million tons, falling by 10.15%, both compared to the figures in the same quarter of 2012.
At the same time, the country's output of coated sheets totaled 874,000 tons, up by 1.16%; that of wire rod was at 188,000 tons, down by 9.18%; that of stainless steel was at 275,000 tons, remaining unchanged, all compared to the figures in the same period of a year ago.
