According to Newcastle Port Corporation, Australian Port of Newcastle's coal shipments totaled 2.96 million tons in the week ended on August 12nd, rising by 30.6% from a week ago.
In the first twelve days of August, the Port of Newcastle's shipments of thermal and coking coals amounted to 4.9 million tons.
Meanwhile, the larger exporters to ship coal from the Port of Newcastle are Anglo American, Peabody Energy, Rio Tinto and Xstrata.
