CNPC aids Qinghai Yushu in earthquake relief

At 7:49 am April 14, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck Yushu County of Qinghai Province. CNPC headquarters and its subsidiaries located at the affected area promptly launched emergency response plan, sending the donations, medicines and oil products to the afflicted areas in first time.

On April 15, CNPC sent a letter of sympathy to Qinghai provincial Party committee and Qinghai provincial government, expressing sincerely concerns and solicitude for people afflicted by earthquake and paying highest tributes to those who worked for disaster rescue. Besides the relief materials such as medicines, foods, tents, clothes and quilts, CNPC also donated RMB 5 million. Meanwhile, CNPC is ready to provide sufficient oil products and natural gas, and make full use of the facilities and condition of its enterprises in Qinghai to fully support the earthquake relief work.

Preliminary examination showed that there were no casualties to CNPC's local enterprises. Our eight gas stations located at the epicenter were destroyed in different degrees. Ten hours after the quake, CNPC affiliated gas stations in Qinghai Province were all opened, and more than 150 carrier vehicles were set out for Yushu from Golmud, Xining and Lanzhou to offer oil products for the use of quake rescue.
