On April 7, a donation totaling RMB 21 million made by CNPC has been delivered to local governments of the five drought affected provinces in southwestern China.

At the same time, CNPC increased oil products supplies for drought fighting use, boosted pipeline gas flow rate from north and central China, organized its staff to deliver water and donate money and materials to drought affected people.

The chronic drought in the southwest area brings great difficulties both to living and production. To mitigate the situation, CNPC's Guangxi Marketing Company have assigned 35 products delivery vehicles to the affected areas, with 19,000 tons of oil products were delivered in nearly 40,000 kilometers round trip solely in March.

Guizhou Marketing Company arranged 2000 person/times to come to the countryside to learn about the situation of the disaster and oil products demands. The company has opened more than 150 quick channels to offer on-the-site service to vehicles, water well drilling equipment, pumping units as well as road building machines.

Sichuan Marketing Company has opened over 100 special gas stations, increasing the products storage to the amount that can be used for more than five days. Meanwhile, it specially provided more than 20,000 tons of oil products to the worst-affected areas to guarantee sufficient fuel supplies for 1000 water pumping units and dozens of reservoirs.

Besides securing fuel supplies for drought fighting, CNPC strives to save every minimal amount of water from oil/gas production, refining, pipeline transportation and oil/gas distribution. Our gas stations in the affected areas pump water from their self-service deep wells and open water supply points to local communities for free use, and deliver free of charge water to inaccessible remote areas.
