On November 16, shield crossing of the Changjiang River was successfully completed during the construction of the Second West-East Gas Pipeline.

As a key engineering project of the Second West-East Gas Pipeline, the crossing is at a location between Jiujiang City of Jiangxi Province and Wuxue City of Hubei Province, with a horizontal crossing span of 2,590 meters. China Oil and Gas Pipeline Company Limited is the EPC contractor. The next step is to lay a 1,219mm, 10Mpa pipeline in the tunnel, which is expected to be completed in April 2010.
