On August 24, Chinese President Hu Jintao,in the accompany of Xinjiang's Party chief Wang Lequan and regional government chairman Nur Bekri, paid a visit to Dushanzi Petrochemical Company.

President Hu was informed of the progress of the company's 10Mt/a refining and 1Mt/a ethylene projects, and asked details about the refining and chemical layout of the company, and the importing and processing of Kazakh oil. He also visited the 10 million tons distillation unit, the refining control center and the first control center of the cracking plant.
