Xi Jinping inspects Daqing Oilfield

On September 21, Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping, also member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of CPC, made an inspection to Daqing Oilfield.

Xi Jinping visited the 1205 drilling crew where "Iron Man" Wang Jinxi used to work, learnt about the engineering and living conditions at the wellsite, especially the advantage of horizontal wells and cluster directional wells, and the use of CNPC-manufactured drilling rigs.

Xi also paid a visit to the Recovery Efficiency Researching Center of Daqing Oilfield's Research Institute of Exploration & Development, listened to the introduction of main technologies in different stages from flowing production, waterflooding production to tertiary oil recovery, especially the technology package of polymer flooding.

Xi emphasized that "Daqing Spirit" and "Iron Man Spirit" have become an important part of China's national spirit. We should vigorously promote this arduous pioneering spirit to contribute more to further growth of the nation's oil industry.
