On July 10, single-line welding was completed of the Central Asia-China Gas Pipeline, which went under construction in July, 2008. CNPC Vice President Wang Dongjin and KazMunaiGaz President Kairgeldy Kabyldin attended the completion ceremony and delivered speeches respectively.

Starting on the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan border and to be connected with the Second West-East Gas Pipeline in China, the Central Asia-China Pipeline is China's first cross-border long distance pipeline with a single-line length of 1,794km. The pipeline is of significant importance in securing the nation's energy supply and promoting CNPC's business in Central Asia countries.

Upon the completion of single-line welding, CNPC will accelerate the installation of the pipeline's initial station and terminal station, meanwhile getting prepared for commercial operation, so as to guarantee the pipeline being operational at the end of this year.
