MOU signed of Myanmar-China Oil Pipeline

On June 16, witnessed by Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping and Vice Chairman of the Myanmar State Peace and Development Council Maung Aye, CNPC Vice President Liao Yongyuan and Myanmar Ambassador to China U Thein Lwin signed a memorandum of understanding on constructing, operating and managing the Myanmar-China Oil Pipeline project by CNPC and Myanmar Ministry of Energy at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Under the MOU, the Myanmar-China Oil Pipeline project includes a 1,100-kilometer pipeline from Kyaukryu port on the west coast of Myanmar to Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province, a large-scale crude oil unloading wharf and a terminal at Kyaukryu port, with nearby oil storage and transportation facilities.
