On November 30, the groundbreaking ceremony of CNPC Technology Innovation Base was held in Changping, Beijing. Once completed, the base will become a center for petroleum engineering technology research and development, innovation and test, product development and mechanical manufacturing.

Located in the national engineering technology innovation base in Zhongguancun, Changping, CNPC Technology Innovation Base covers an area of nearly one square kilometers and attracts a total investment of approximately RMB 8 billion, with its potential inhabitants including CNPC Drilling Research Institute, Petrochemical Research Institute, PetroChina Planning and Engineering Institute, CNPC Institute for Safety, Environmental Protection and Technology, Beijing Data Center, Beijing Logging Technology Research Center, Beijing Petroleum Machinery Factory and CNPC (Beijing) Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd.
