On March 12, the first 12,000m drilling rig for ultra-deep wells in China, developed and manufactured by CNPC's Baoji Oilfield Machinery Company Limited, started its operation at Well Chuanke-1 in Deyang, Sichuan Province. Chuanke-1 is a scientific exploration well planned by Sinopec at Xiaoquan structure in the Chuanxi depression.

In the process of drilling, the rig operated smoothly and is expected to fully meet the drilling requirements of the well.

As the 12,000m rig being put into operation, it is viable to access deeper petroleum resources, elevate China's exploration and development drilling for ultra-deep oil and gas reservoirs to a new height and greatly enhance our competitiveness in the international oil & gas exploration market.
