The high-resolution smart MFL (magnetic flux leakage) detector for pipelines with a diameter of 1,016mm was used commercially for the first time on the West-East Gas Pipeline. The detector started at Anping sub-transmission station at Ji-Ning Branch on June 23 and arrived at Tai'an sub-transmission station on June 25, traveling 285 kilometers in 64 hours. The collected data was reliable and the operation of the detector was safe and smooth.

Good condition, integrated data and the fact that no harm was done to the pipe after the detector was recovered confirmed its reliability, veracity and safety.

The Ф1016mm high-resolution smart MFL detector can accurately detect metal loss and the characteristics of pipes, and describe metal loss degree and location of the detected pipes by data analysis and processing afterwards, in order to allow for risk assessment and maintenance.
