A CNPC Offshore Emergency Response and Rescue Center headquartered in Jidong Oilfield was established on October 10. The center administrates a service vessel team and three rescue stations — Caofeidian in Hebei Province, Tanggu in Tianjin Municipality and Yingkou in Liaoning Province.

The center has been set up in order to meet the demands of expanding offshore operations and speed up the exploration and development of the Bohai Bay. As a part of CNPC's emergency management system, the center is responsible for rescue operations occurring during offshore exploration and development, as well as routine precautions in the shallow waters of the Bohai Bay, on the coast and on onshore oil recovery islands.
