Pork, egg prices rise for nearly two months

with new high for the latter

 

According to MOA's Agri-product Wholesale Market Information Network, the Nationwide Agri-product Wholesale Price Index for the 33rd week of 2014 (August 11-17, 2014) is 207.80 (year 2000=100), increasing by 1.88 points over a week ago. The Nationwide Non-staple Food Wholesale Price Index is 210.28, up by 2.34 points over a week ago. The trade volume of 60 items in 50 wholesale markets under intensive monitoring is 668,300 tons, decreasing by 1.1% compared to the previous week.

Note:

1. The price rose for eight consecutive weeks, climbing to a new record high.

2. The price rose for seven consecutive weeks.

3. The total trade volume in 50 major wholesale markets under intensive monitoring of MOA.

4. Being equal to that of the previous week.

5. Out of the 28 items of vegetables under intensive monitoring, as to those of the previous week, the prices of 18 items rose, the price of one item remained the same, and the prices of 9 items fell.

6. The margin of average price rise was three percentage points higher than that of the previous week.

7. Change of prices was slight.
