Selected non-staple food prices –29th week of 2014

Egg price continues rising

while prices of aquatic products fall slightly

 

According to MOA's Agri-product Wholesale Market Information Network, the Nationwide Agri-product Wholesale Price Index for the 29th week of 2014 (July 14-20, 2014) is 205.00 (year 2000=100), increasing by 0.30 point over a week ago. The Nationwide Non-staple Food Wholesale Price Index is 206.87, up by 0.26 point over a week ago. The trade volume of 60 items in 50 wholesale markets under intensive monitoring is 656,600 tons, increasing by 0.4% compared to the previous week.

Note:

1. The price rose for four consecutive weeks with bigger increase, and was 33.5% higher than that of last year.

2. The price dropped by 8.1% year-on-year.

3. The total trade volume in 50 major wholesale markets under intensive monitoring of MOA.

4. Out of the 28 items of vegetables under intensive monitoring, as to those of the previous week, the prices of 15 items rose, the prices of two items remained the same, and the prices of 11 items fell.

5. The average price of 28 items of vegetables decreased by 0.2% from a year ago.

6. Change of prices was within 5%.
