Selected non-staple food prices –24th week of 2014

Pork price falls slightly, vegetable prices remain flat

 

According to MOA's Agri-product Wholesale Market Information Network, the Nationwide Agri-product Wholesale Price Index for the 24th week of 2014 (June 9-15, 2014) is 202.20 (year 2000=100), increasing by 1.17 points over a week ago. The Nationwide Non-staple Food Wholesale Price Index is 203.65, up by 1.49 points over a week ago. The trade volume of 60 items in 50 wholesale markets under intensive monitoring is 649,800 tons, increasing by 3.8% compared to the previous week.

1. The price dropped for the first time after rise for five consecutive weeks, and decreased by 5.9% year-on-year.

2. The price increased by 17.9% year-on-year.

3. The total trade volume in 50 major wholesale markets under intensive monitoring of MOA.

5. Out of the 28 items of vegetables under intensive monitoring, the prices of 18 items rose and the prices of 10 items fell.

6. The average price of 28 items of vegetables increased by 3.7% year-on-year.
