Selected non-staple food prices –20th week of 2014

Pork, egg prices rise while vegetable prices drop

 

According to MOA's Agri-product Wholesale Market Information Network, the Nationwide Agri-product Wholesale Price Index for the 20th week of 2014 (May 12-18, 2014) is 202.95 (year 2000=100), increasing by 0.82 points over a week ago. The Nationwide Non-staple Food Wholesale Price Index is 204.53, up by 0.99 points over a week ago. The trade volume of 60 items in 50 wholesale markets under intensive monitoring is 674,900 tons, decreasing by 3.1% compared to the previous week.

Note:

1.  The price decreased by 2.7% year-on-year.

2.  The price rose for 11 consecutive weeks and increased by 27.9% year-on-year.

3.  The total trade volume in 50 major wholesale markets under intensive monitoring of MOA.

4. Out of the 28 items of vegetables under intensive monitoring, the prices of 18 items fell, the prices of 8 items rose, and the prices of 2 items remained the same as to that of the previous week.

5. The average price of 28 items of vegetables dropped for 14 consecutive weeks and increased by 4.8% year-on-year.
