Meat, vegetable prices drop while egg price rises

 

According to MOA's Agri-product Wholesale Market Information Network, the Nationwide Agri-product Wholesale Price Index for the 17th week of 2014 (April 21-27, 2014) is 199.56 (year 2000=100), decreasing by 1.92 points over a week ago. The Nationwide Non-staple Food Wholesale Price Index is 200.31, down by 2.16 points over a week ago. The trade volume of 60 items in 50 wholesale markets under intensive monitoring is 713,600 tons, decreasing by 0.2% compared to the previous week.

   1. The price dropped for 10 consecutive weeks and decreased by 11.4% year-on-year.

   2. The price rose for 7 consecutive weeks and increased by 13.6% year-on-year.

   3. The total trade volume in 50 major wholesale markets under intensive monitoring of MOA.

4. Out of the 28 items of vegetables under intensive monitoring, the prices of 21 items fell, the prices of 5 items rose, and the prices of 2 items remained the same as to that of the previous week.

5. The average price of 28 items of vegetables dropped for 11 consecutive weeks and decreased by 13.3% year-on-year.
