China's fertiliser production rise 19% Jan-Aug 2012
China's production of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium fertilisers reached 50.4 million tonnes from January to August 2012, a rise of 19.1% on year.
According to statistics from the China National Chemical Information Centre, the monthly output of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium fertiliser showed as much as 37.4% of growth from the same period of last year, higher than the 10% to 20% growth in previous months.
China produced 33.631 million tonnes of nitrogen fertiliser in the first eight months of 2012, up 14.4% from the same period of last year.
The output of phosphorous and potassium fertiliser totalled 13.43 million tonnes and 32.95 million tonnes from January to August, increasing 32.2% and 17.9%, respectively.
The significant expansion of fertiliser output mainly resulted from the lower coal prices, sufficient supply of electricity and natural gas as well as the operation of new production capacity, according to industrial analysts.
