Vietnam's January-August fertiliser output up
In the first eight months of this year, Vietnam's fertiliser output increased sharply.
Local firms produced over one million tonnes of urea fertiliser between January-August, up 56.9% against on-year while DAP's output surged 58.5% on year to 180,900 tonnes, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) said.
However, the output of phosphate fertiliser decreased 8.8% on-year to 1.1 million tonnes during the period, it said.
In August, local firms produced 127,000 tonnes of urea fertiliser and 24,000 tonnes of DAP, up 41.9% and 81.4% on-year, respectively.
Domestic prices of fertilisers are expected to fall slightly thanks to the decreased production costs, increased supply and stable demand, the ministry said.
