Prices of some Indian poultry feed products decline
Following a continuous fall in cost of production in the last few days, prices of a few poultry-feed products in India decreased by INR30-40 (US$0.48-0.64) for a 50-kilogramme bag.
Lower input costs pulled poultry feed prices down, said Aditya Mishra, a commodity expert. Following cheaper inputs, prices of pre-starter mash and finisher products dropped by INR600 and INR800 (US$9.70 and US$12.90) a tonne, respectively, he said.
Trade experts said that feed prices may continue to rule around current levels without any fluctuation in the coming days.
Soymeal dropped by INR50 (US$0.81) to INR33,500 (US$540) a tonne, while bajra improved by INR250 (US$4.03) to INR13,500 (US$218) a quintal in the physical market.
Di-calcium phosphate was sold at INR34.70 (US$0.56) a kilogramme, while corn moved down by INR50 (US$0.81) to INR1,440 (US$23) a quintal. Dry-rolled barley (DRB) was up by INR700 (US$11.30) to INR8,000 (US$129); rice bran oil was sold at INR53 (US$0.85) a kilogramme; Meat and bone meal (MBM) dropped by INR1 (US$0.02) to INR38 (US$0.61); while mustard de-oiled cake was unchanged at INR14,700 (US$237) a tonne.
Pre-lay mash was sold at INR1,010 (US$16.30) for a 50-kilogramme bag. "Layer concentrate 25%" was sold at INR1,450 (US$23.40) for a 50-kilogramme bag, while "Layer concentrate 35%" ruled at INR1,135 (US$18.30) for a 50-kilogramme bag.
Broiler concentrate was quoted at INR2,010 (US$32) for a 50-kilogramme bag, while broiler starter mash was sold at INR1,550 (US$25) for a 50-kilogramme bag.
A downtrend was witnessed in the poultry products market as broiler dropped by INR4 (US$0.06) to INR90 (US$1.45) a kilogramme; egg eased by INR0.13 (US$0.002) to INR3.72 (US$0.06); and chick went for INR28 (US$0.45), down INR1 (US$0.02) from the previous levels.
