India''s poultry feed prices may decline by week end

   

   

   

India''s poultry feed products are all set to turn cheaper by the end of this week, following a downtrend in the prices of key ingredients over the last few days.

   

   

Aditya Mishra, a trade expert, said that following a continuous fall in the cost of production, feed prices are set to turn cheaper within a couple of days. Feedprices may decrease by INR400-600 (US$6.50-9.70) a tonne, he added.

   

   

Prices of almost all the key ingredients have come down this week, said Aditya Mishra.

   

   

In the physical market, soymeal dropped by INR1,500 (US$24.30) and sold at INR32,200/tonne (US$521). Bajra dropped by INR140 (US$2.30) at INR1,200-1,260 (US$19.40-20.40) a quintal while Di-calcium phosphate sold at INR34.70/kilogramme (US$0.56).

   

   

Meat and bone meal (MBM) moved down by INR0.40 (US$0.01) and sold at INR32.60 (US$0.53) while corn eased by INR90 (US$1.46) to INR1,450/quintal (US$23.50). Dry-rolled barley (DRB) sold at INR11,400 (US$184) while rice bran oil ruled at INR59 (US$95). Mustard de-oiled cake eased by INR400 (US$6.50) to INR14,600/tonne (US$236).

   

   

Broiler concentrate feed quoted at INR2,020 (US$33) for a 50-kilogramme bag while broiler starter mash sold at INR1,530 (US$25) for a 50-kilogramme bag. Pre-lay mash sold at INR1,040 (US$17). "Layer concentrate 25%" sold at INR1,490 (US$24) while "Layer concentrate 35%" was at INR1,175 (US$19).

   

   

Meanwhile, an uptrend was witnessed in the poultry products market on account of an increase in demand. Broiler improved by INR8 (US$0.13) and quoted at INR82-84 (US$1.32-1.36) a kilogramme; egg went up by INR0.05 (US$0.001) at INR3.11 (US$0.05), while chick went up by INR2 (US$0.03) to INR22-24 (US$0.36-0.39).
