India''s poultry feed prices drop on low soymeal prices
The rates of India''s poultry feed products decreased by INR25-80 (US$0.42-1.35) for a 50-kilogramme bag, following a continuous fall in soymeal prices over the past few days.
Low input cost has pulled the poultry feed prices down, said Subhash Sharma, Financial Head, Sarvottam Poultry Feed Supply Centre Pvt Ltd. Prices of soymeal coupled with other ingredients have dropped over the last few days, he said. Fall in soymeal is the prime reason behind the fall in cost of production and feed prices are likely to rule around current levels for the next days, said Subhash Sharma.
In the physical market, soymeal moved further down by INR1,600 (US$27) and sold at INR29,700/tonne (US$501).
Bajra improved by INR40 (US$0.67) to INR1,300/quintal (US$22), Di-calcium phosphate dropped by INR0.10 (US$0.002) and was at INR34.70 (US$0.59) a kilogramme; Meat and Bone Meal sold at INR33/kilogramme (US$0.56) while corn dropped by INR30 (US$0.51) to INR1,410-1,530 (US$24-26) a quintal.
Mustard De-oiled Cake dropped by INR500 (US$8.43) and sold at INR13,500/tonne (US$228), dry-rolled barley (DRB) went further down by INR200 (US$3.40) to INR10,000/tonne (US$169) while rice bran oil ruled at INR54/kilogramme (US$0.91), remained unchanged.
Prices of Broiler concentrate feed dropped by INR80 and quoted at INR1,970 (US$33) for a 50-kilogramme bag while broiler starter mash was at INR1,510 (US$25), INR40 (US$0.67) down from previous level.
Pre-lay mash eased by INR25 (US$0.42) and sold at INR1,015 (US$17) for a 50-kilogramme bag, while layer grower mash quoted at INR955 (US$16) for a 50-kilogramme bag, INR25 (US$0.42) down.
"Layer concentrate 25%" and layer concentrate 35% dropped by INR25 (US$0.42) each and sold at INR1,465 (US$25) for a 50-kilogramme bag and at INR1,150 (US$19.40) for a 50-kilogramme bag, respectively.
Meanwhile, reduced off-take coupled with easy availability pulled poultry products down on Saturday.
Broiler dropped by INR8 (US$0.13) and quoted at INR60-62/kilogramme (US$1.01-1.04), egg eased by INR0.20 (US$0.003) and sold at INR2.70 (US$0.05), while chick went for INR10-11 (US$0.17-0.18), INR5 (US$0.08) down from previous levels.
According to the market experts, demand for poultry products is low in the region and products may continue to rule range bound for the next few days.
