WIDAM to be main distributor of subsidised feed in Qatar

A cooperation agreement has been signed between Qatar Company for Meat & Livestock Trading-''WIDAM'' (formerly Mawashi), and the Department of Supply in the Central Tenders Committee, which will allow the former to be one of the key distributors of subsidised feed in Qatar.

"We''re very happy to see the launch of Widam perfectly timed with this announcement and we hope for this agreement to support domestic animal resources and to hold many returns for investors," said Mr Ahmed Nasser Sraiya Al Kaabi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ''Widam''.

"Based on our commitment to cattle breeders and in order to facilitate their work and continue supporting our shareholders, we have signed a coordination agreement with the Department of Supply allowing us to distribute subsidised feed," he added.

Jamil Omran, Sales and Marketing Manager at Widam said, "Since we are available at the central market, we expect heavy demand, but we can confirm to all our clients that all sales processes of subsidised feed will be simple and well-managed. WIDAM has provided special locations and private stores for these processes, and the company''s employees will be available daily, in order to provide any assistance and support for all Qatari cattle breeders. In the future, we will establish new selling points to cover all of Doha, which will be revealed at a later stage."

Widam will commence the selling process of the subsidised feed that consists of barley and Shuar, on March 10, 2013, through the main outlet located in the Central Market. The sale of the subsidised feed will be limited to Qatari cattle breeders, by the State''s predetermined amounts and approved prices for barley and shuar.
