Belarus temporarily restricts poultry imports from Romania

   

   

   

In order to prevent the spread of the Newcastle disease, Belarus temporarily banned the imports of live poultry, incubating eggs, poultry meat and all other kinds of processed poultry, feathers, and fodder from Romania on October 5.

   

   

According to the information provided by the International Office of Epizootics, the case was registered in Tohanu Vechi, Brasov, Romania.

   

   

Newcastle disease is a contagious bird disease affecting domestic and wild avian species. It is transmissible to humans. It causes mild conjunctivitis and influenza-like symptoms.
