Belstra Milling to expand production facility

Belstra Milling Company is investing US$2.5 million to renovate, modernise and expand their DeMotte, Indiana animal feed production facility.

The project will result in more efficient mill stock and grain receiving, increased storage and processing capacity, improved internal and external traffic flows, and greater warehouse space.

The project is expected to be completed in fall 2011 and will increase employment by three. The company currently employs 28.

"Customer demand is driving the need for this expansion and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to strengthen our relationships with our partners throughout the supply chain. DeMotte has been a wonderful home for our company since the beginning and it's exciting to be reinvesting in the community," said Tim Belstra, President.

The project was stimulated by the creation of a Tax Increment Financing District and the issuance of bonds by the Town of DeMotte. "Belstra Milling is a tremendous corporate citizen and we are pleased to have the opportunity to assist them with this major project. We're committed to supporting our local business community and are very proud of Belstra Milling's success over the years," said Mark Boer, DeMotte Town Council President.
