Vietnam animal feed import spending down 1% in 2011
Vietnam is estimated to have spent US$1.353 billion on imports of animal feed and material in the first seven months of this year, a 1% decrease on-year.
According to the General Statistics Office, the country spent US$180 million on animal feed and materials for its production in July, compared to US$198 million in June.
Last year, Vietnam imported US$2.7 billion of raw materials to make animal feed, compared to US$2.1 billion in 2009.
The country is expected to import about US$3 billion of raw materials for animal feed this year.
