Vietnam animal feed imports fall 2.5%
Vietnam is estimated to have spent US$924 million on imports of animal feed and material in the first five months of this year, the General Statistics Office said.
The figure represented an on-year decrease of 2.5%, the office said.
In May, the country bought US$160 million worth of animal feed and materials, compared to US$151 million in the previous month.
Last year, Vietnam imported US$2.7 billion of raw materials to make animal feed, up from US$2.1 billion in 2009.
The country is expected to import about US$3 billion of raw materials for animal feed this year.
