DLA Group/Raisio agree on feed ingredient procurement contract
Two of Scandinavia's biggest grain product organisations, Denmark's DLA Group and Finland's Raisio have agreed to cooperate on feed ingredient procurement.
DLA manages wholesale buying and selling activities for 31 cooperative and privately owned raw materials companies in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and the Baltic States, while Raisio is Finland's biggest industrial grain processor, operating also in the UK, Sweden, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Baltic countries.
The two companies have agreed to cooperate mostly in the procurement of feed raw materials and other production inputs. They will also investigate prospects for cooperation in Eastern Europe and plan to set up a working group to look at these possibilities.
DLA Group's Managing Director, Peter Iversen, believes that working together will bring new prospects for the procurement activities of both parties; "Our objective is to make DLA Group a competitive player in the Northern European raw material market. Together with our international partners, we will be able to take advantage of sourcing larger volumes and to start new activities in new market areas."
