CCM recently announces to update the 3rd edition of Future of White Biotechnology in China, which will be available in April 2011. The 3rd edition report aims to figure out the bottlenecks and commercial opportunities in white biotechnology industry.
CCM International Limited, the China-based consulting company recently announces to update the report, Future of White Biotechnology in China based on the 2nd edition in April 2011
"China's white biotechnology industry, in general, still stays at the preliminary development stage. Chinese government and enterprises have put their efforts mainly in renewable energy products and bio-materials, while the development of bio-products and bio-based chemicals move on very slowly, both in technology innovation and new product development. In recent years, achievements in white technology in China like fuel ethanol produced by non-food renewable materials, super yeast with higher ethanol tolerance (15%-17% ethanol concentration) are used in fuel ethanol production and some new products. It's worth drawing an clear picture to the overall situation, that' s why we update this report." The researcher from CCM said.
"This report aims to figure out bottlenecks and commercial opportunities by analyzing on various products and the value chain," The researcher further explained", According to our current knowledge, the process science is the key bottleneck for the industrialization of China's white biotechnology. China is weak in the research on process science of white biotechnology, especially in the approaches and principles for the scale-up of bio-process. Lack of industrial scale-up capability makes it difficult for technology industrialization, thus it's hard for commercialized production of new products. The application of major large-scale bio-processes depends on overseas technologies. We will have a clear and more in-depth insight after the project finished"
Compared with the 2nd edition in 2009, the 3rd version will add the following analysis:
-The third edition will add SWOT analysis on each sub-industry including bio-product industry, bio-fuel industry, bio-based fine chemical industry, bio-based chemical industry and bio-material industry.
-Additional analysis on new products: LDA, Starch-based materials, PPC, microalgae diesel etc. Thanks to rapid development of technology of white biotechnology in China, some new products such as LDA, starch-based materials, PPC, are gradually springing up. Besides, with increasingly tense energy supply, China is paying more attention to microalgae diesel.
-Data updated to 2010: related data of capacity and output in this edition will be updated by 2010 and selling price of related products will be updated by March 2011.
The researcher concludes " the report will offer critical market data and key findings for 30+ key white biotechnology products across 5 sub-industries, covering analysis on policies and regulations, renewable feed stocks, future prospects and so on"
