Japan joins world feed union
Japan's national feed association has become the latest member of the International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF), with its decision to join confirmed at the Global Feed & Food Congress recently held in Cancun, Mexico.
The Japanese association represents manufacturers in an industry producing about 25 million tonnes of feeds annually. It has also opened discussions with the IFIF on creating a new North Asia Feed Association along the lines followed successfully by Fefac in Europe and Feed Latina in Latin America. The hope is to have the North Asian organisation in place by the end of this year.
The objective of the third Global Feed & Food Congress, held Apr 20-23 this year by IFIF, is to define policies and mechanisms to ensure safe feed is efficiently produced and provided to food-producing animals to meet the global demand of animal products.
