GrainCorp lodges revised port terminal access undertaking

GrainCorp Ltd. Thursday (September 24) said it plans to lodge with antitrust regulator Australian Competition and Consumer Commission a revised undertaking covering access for other grain exporters to its port export terminals.

GrainCorp is confident the revised undertaking will meet all of the ACCC's requirements and that the company will successfully gain bulk wheat export accreditation from Wheat Exports Australia by Sep. 30, the company said in a statement.

GrainCorp has moved quickly after the ACCC Wednesday rejected proposed undertakings provided by GrainCorp, Cooperative Bulk Handling Ltd. and ABB Grain, a unit of Canadian-based Viterra Inc., covering access to their port facilities.

The companies were told in early August to revise their access undertakings.
