De Heus acquires Czech animal feed company
Dutch feed manufacturer De Heus has acquired the Czech feed company Zemedelske sluzby Bestovice a.s. (ZSB).
The acquisition fits the company's focus to increase its local presence and growth in markets with high agricultural potential.
ZSB has a production capacity of about 60,000 tonnes of compound and complete feed, mainly for cattle and pig. Part of the acquisition is a 50-percent share in Agrobest s.r.o. which produces special products for cattle under the VOLAC-license (rumen bypass products) and special feed.
The acquisition will provide De Heus the opportunity to expand in the cattle markets of Czech Republic and Slovakia, and contribute to the company's goal of market leadership in these markets.
De Heus plans to integrate the commercial activities and align the product portfolio, and trade all products and services under their current brand names.
